Connecticut legislators have entered HB 6716 into the 2025 legislative session. This bill would require the Connecticut Department of Transportation to restore commuter rail service to New Milford.
This is an extraordinary opportunity.
Not only will this expand rail access into one ideally-suited community, but it also constitutes a critical step towards reactivating the Berkshire Line throughout Litchfield County.
We are at a pivotal moment for the future of public transportation.
Powerful interests, from lobbyists in statehouses to pundits on cable news, are eager to oppose any expansion of American rail networks. Connecticut legislators who support clean, efficient, and accessible rail travel need to hear from us: we, the people, want more trains.
